As scores of workers return to their offices after a year or longer of working remotely, there is a renewed focus on cleanliness and hygiene at the workplace. Results from a Harris Poll conducted this past May show that 84 percent of respondents surveyed said that they are more likely to maintain heightened hygiene practices adopted in response to the coronavirus pandemic. And 65 percent expressed concern over the cleanliness of their workspace, according to the same Harris Poll.
Among workers who have returned to the office, more than half said they have observed fellow workers adopting new behaviors having to do with cleanliness, and this includes using hand sanitizer more frequently and washing their hands more often.
This long-awaited return to the office brings with it some wariness among many workers as the pandemic lingers and the highly transmissible delta variant continues to threaten people’s health.

Some ways to tell if your breakroom is up to good cleanliness standards is by making sure the counters have been wiped clean, the floor is free from grime, and the trash cans have been emptied. Germs can accumulate in this area, so it pays to be vigilant about keeping it sanitary and clean.
Reception Area
This is where guests and clients will form their initial impression about your company. Is your reception area clean, tidy and does it appear free of clutter? Make sure the soft furnishings are spotless. You don’t want stains and debris showing here where they will be noticed by lots of people during the course of a day.
Front Door
You want your front door to convey to visitors that your company cares about a clean appearance. Check the handles for signs of dirt and inspect the glass for smears or fingerprints.
